Environmental and sustainability-related observance days are globally recognized awareness initiatives led by the United Nations (UN), UNEP, WHO, UNESCO, FAO and other international organizations. These observance days promote environmental protection, pollution prevention, biodiversity conservation, climate action, sustainable lifestyles, public health and ecological awareness.
They are widely observed by industries, educational institutions, laboratories, accreditation bodies, environmental professionals, government organizations and sustainability stakeholders through awareness programmes, campaigns, trainings and community initiatives.

World Accreditation Day | 9 June
Global initiative jointly established by ILAC and IAF to promote accreditation as a tool supporting quality, competence, testing, calibration, inspection, certification, trade facilitation and regulatory confidence. Widely relevant for laboratories, certification bodies, inspection agencies, industries and quality professionals.

World Standards Day | 14 October
Promotes importance of standards in quality, safety, sustainability, innovation and international trade. Relevant for laboratories, industries, regulatory agencies and conformity assessment bodies.
